Reliable and Trustworthy Dog Groomer

Hi, my name is Karen and for pretty much most of my working life, I worked in catering of some sort. Previous to dog grooming, I was the Unit Catering Supervisor at a local primary school. I loved my job, it fitted around my child being in school and the holidays were great. I have always had dogs but this passion grew more when I started competing in Flyball back in 2010 with one of my collies. From there, my pack grew. To begin with, it was collies all the way with me but then I got a taste for the collie/whippet sport mixes that dominate the sport nowadays. They really are not for the faint hearted but they are absolutely amazing. Dog grooming was something I had always wanted to do but just never had the guts to do it. After Covid, I decided to take that leap of faith and I started my business Purely PAWFECT Grooming after gaining my Open College Network Level 3 diploma in dog grooming. Since then I haven’t looked back.

I go to work everyday with my most loyal boy Denis, who is the face of the business. In his day he was an amazing Flyball dog, he just loved to race. He retired from racing after covid and now enjoys coming to work and meeting everyone. I normally bring the baby of the family, my home bred collie/whippet mix Egg (yes I have called her Egg 😂). She has been learning the ropes from Denis and is a super chilled work dog. The whole pack usually makes an appearance (just not at the same time!). They have their own room for when I have dogs in that are not happy around other dogs. So if your dog needs one to one, that is fine.

I am passionate about skin and coat care due to a couple of my dogs being sensitive with food and environment, so I am always researching the best and most natural products to use. Diet and nutrition is also linked with this and I am currently studying for a Canine Nutrition Diploma. I don’t think you are ever too old to learn new things. I have also completed my Emmi-pet training and offer this as a service at the salon. I recently renewed my first aid training and there are lots more courses I have planned.

In the salon I sell products related to grooming, health supplements, raw dog food and lots of treats (these make my dogs very happy 😂). I am a member of British Dog Groomers’ Association which is a division of Pet Industry Federation (PIF).

I specialize in the more difficult to groom dogs, and work 1 to 1 so I am able to provide a safe and relaxing environment making the grooming experience as comfortable as possible for your dog.

I am always prepared for any pet's needs and ensure that your pet will receive the best care and love. Their happiness and care is my priority and I strive to provide a service I would want my own pets to receive.

Services/Price List

All prices are dependent on coat type and condition. There is an extra charge from £10 for matted dogs depending on severity of the matting. this is due to the extra time needed for grooming and wear and tear on my equipment. Please do NOT bring your dog if you know they have fleas! Charge for dogs with fleas is an extra £20. This is because I need to use a flea bath on the dog and also treat the salon before I can allow anymore dogs in. If you know your dog has fleas rearrange the appointment and treat at home first. Terms & Conditions

A 50% non refundable deposit is required at time of booking to secure your appointment. This can either be carried forward to your next appointment or deducted from your groom. Deposits must be paid within 48 hours of booking the appointment, otherwise the appointment will be cancelled.

Please give at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment. If less than 24 hours notice is given, you will be required to pay in full for your groom. If you fail to show up on the day, full payment is required and all future appointments will have to be paid for in advance.

Matted Dog

Terms & Conditions

There are limitations when dealing with matted coats as matts form at the roots of the dogs hair and when the coat gets wet these matts shrink and pull on the dogs skin. Once a dogs coat is matted the kindest thing to do is to shave the matts out and can sometimes involve shaving off the coat really short. I will always try and leave as much coat as possible but I am limited to what I can do as it depends what blade i can get under the matts. Attempting to de-matt a dog is a painful experience and can have a lasting effect on the dog. Be reassured that the coat will grow back and then together we can work towards the style you want to achieve.
